Refrain
Allah, Allah, Allah, Ya Allah
…
« O you who implore » (al-Shustarî)
O you who implore the Mercy of God,
Entrust all your affairs to Him and say, in sincerity and fervour: Allah!
Surrender yourself to Him, then excel
In conduct beautiful and majestic. For at all times
You are in His Presence!
Hold fast to Him; know that the Pole of the Names is Allah,
And keep your heart present whenever you declare: Allah!
Invoke Him in secret and aloud; you shall then inherit His Nearness,
And know that you are His servant, Who moreover makes you glad!
Then dance and sing over the universe,
Drink the sealed wine of remembrance,
In which lies buried a secret that only the invoker can unearth!
Be poor in Him; you shall be enriched by His remembrance.
Strip yourself of all that is not Him and grasp firmly
His Handle. Should other than Him appear to you,
Efface it by His Name! Fear not the ill His Veiling may bring,
And advance through Him, in peace, like one who stands upright before his Lord!
The other songs are on the Qasaid and sama’ page.
