Sufism in France: a living path, handed down from master to disciple

'Sufism is a flavour: you cannot know it until you have tasted it.'

Teaching of the Qadiriya Boutchichiya path

The Qadiriya Boutchichiya tariqa is a Sufi path within Sunni Islam, centred on the zawiya of Madagh in Morocco. Present in France since the 1980s, it gathers practitioners in eight cities. Soufisme.org publishes its teachings and announces its meditation (dhikr) sessions, which are open to all.

A path is a method and a chain of transmission: practices received from a guide who had them from his own, heart to heart, back to the Prophet. Full presentation of the path →

Who we are

We are members of the Qadiriya Boutchichiya Sufi path, living in France and coming from varied social and cultural backgrounds. Our path stands within Sunni Islam and carries universal spiritual values. We want to share our experience, and the way this path is a means of inner transformation and peace: a little-known face of Islam, that of the quest for meaning grounded in divine love.
