In Lyon, the Isthme association and VSMF Lyon run Sufi meditation evenings open to all: dhikr, tales, poems and sacred song (sama’), followed by a conversation over a shared snack. The gatherings take place at Les Arches, in the 6th arrondissement.
The Lyon Sufi evenings

- When: several Saturdays in the year, doors open at 6.15pm, session at 6.30pm. Dates are announced on this page and in the calendar.

How an evening unfolds
Sufi spiritual practice is an intimate experience that touches the being at its deepest: people speak of ‘taste’ or ‘flavour’. The Lyon evenings invite you to taste that flavour through an introduction to the practice of dhikr (Sufi meditation), tales, poems and sama’, the sacred Sufi songs. The meditation session is followed by a conversation over a shared snack.
